The idea of the Black Cat, their abilities and possible impact on the pack, was very intriguing. I can also see the raven-shifter brothers featuring in future stories. We've not seen much of vampires in this series so it's interesting to have them feature so prominently with a probable reappearance later. The romance potion of the story was pretty straight-forward, not as complex or emotional as others in the series. The danger surrounding Andrei is the only impediment to them mating and being happy. So more wow in the story elements and less drama in the romance than in others in the series.

While he’s checking out the parking lot at his bar he gets a whiff of his Mate. He gets upset because he can smell his mate is hurt. What he never expects is that his Mate is a rare type of shifter. Andrei has magic in him. When something backfires he goes on the run. Will he be able to trust Jesse and his pack? Will Jesse be able to protect him from Andrei’s past? Will their relationship withstand the past?

I am happy and appreciated the introduction of the black cat and some vampires in the mix. I love this series and can't wait to see what new paranormal the author will bring into his other books and how the series will continue to grow and expand.

Do you wish people who harm animals were dealt much harsher punishments? Then this is the book for you!Another wonderfully blood soaked, gore splattered installment in Wade H Garrett's Angel of Death series. I couldn't put this one down and read it in one sitting. 'Human Cruelty' is twisted in the best of ways, you will not be disappointed.Although I will warn animal lovers, there are scenes of animals being harmed which are obviously horrible but a necessary evil of this books content. Don't worry, the human scum get what is coming to them.

As someone who volunteers with animals who have been tossed away like garbage, this book is immensely satisfying! There are parts of this book that will always stay in the back of my mind and make me grin when I deal someone "deserving" of Seth's ministrations. However, the end is one of the best endings I have ever read!

You can't help but like Seth! He takes care of business in sick ways that your mind has to absorb in doses. I find his dark humor morbidly fascinating. Must start at the beginning with Book 1. Insanely good read!

31 of 33 people found the following review helpful. A Journey to Amish Country By Jennifer Thompson-Thalasinos Wanda Brunstetter has done it again with her new book, The Storekeeper's Daughter. Set in the heart of Amish country in Pennsylvania, Naomi, age 20, is forced to become the caregiver of her seven younger siblings after her mother's sudden and tragic death. Her father, Abraham, expects her not only to do all of the household chores, but work for the family store as well. And under no circumstances is she allowed to be courted, especially by her childhood friend Caleb. After her baby brother is kidnapped, Naomi is feeling unloved by her family and extremely guilty. In an attempt to free herself from her plight, she goes to Portland with her "English" friend Virginia. Once there she has to make a decision about where she truly belongs.This book is the first in a series called "Lancaster's Daughters." And once you read it you will be left wanting more (and will have to wait until January 2006!). I highly recommend this book for anyone who is interested in the Amish culture.

One is knowing about great books before they even hit the store shelves. "The StoreKeeper's Daughter" is the first book in a 3-book series. As usual, Ms. Brunstetter has lively Amish characters in this series. Her usual warmth and sweet aroma is also portrayed in this book. The simple yet touching life of a young Amish girl is openly welcomed into our homes with every page that you turn. A great book and a must read! I also recommend all of Ms. Brunstetter's books. For she never disappoints! I always ask people if they have read her books while I am touring. For she is a wonderul historical romance author. See for yourself. There is nothing particularly amazing, nor unique, about it but I find myself very much glued to it and wanting more. When there are nothing but grim, dark and gritty on the shelfs a story as simple and rather bright as this one is such welcome change from the constant brooding. Simple and rather human stories like these sometimes are more impactful than something grand and complex. I recommend this series to anyone and if there was a Spanish publication I'd ask my family to read it, too.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Beautiful Work as Always By Pinkamena Diane Pie Kaoru Mori's intricate line work continues with her latest volume of A Bride's Story. The setting this time however requires much less detail and pattern on clothes but that's fine, they still look great. Also this volume's story focuses heavily on public baths so the characters are pretty much not wearing clothes for a large portion of the pages. If you wanted an example of a manga that could have so much bathing scenes but remain classy, this has got to be it.

Herewith a MAJOR luxury experience via a book. Manga artist Kaoru Mori does gorgeous drawing, and to the resulting beauty she adds stories that emphasize kindness and life's pleasures.In this seventh volume of her "Bride's Story", set in a 19th Century Muslim world, she absolutely hits a peak of beauty combined with sweetness.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. You will absolutely love Gabby St. Claire By Jennifer T. Absolutely love reading the entire series (books 1-9). I'm currently reading book 10. I love to read, especially mysteries; however, many of the authors today resort to extreme graphic and sleezy to attract readers. I prefer to avoid those authors. Christy Barrit captures and keeps your attention from the moment you begin reading. I feel like Gabby St. Claire is a member of my family now. She's spunky, quick witted, bright and down to Earth. I love the fact that Christy keeps it clean as well as touch on a lot of the issues we face today. I've recommended the series to my mother (who is currently hooked) as well my 15 YO daughter. I'm looking forward to reading more of the Gabby St. Claire stories as well as other Christy Barrit books.

They are a combination of romance and mystery and sometimes the solving of the mystery was a complete surprise and others were easier to figure out before the end. I could not put them down; I wanted to know how it ended. You can read each book on its own but after reading the first book in the series I purchased all of them including this set. You will also miss some background information about the characters if you do not read the books in order but it will be minimal.

Since she is a crime scene cleaner, there is some descriptive, mild gore at times, but not enough to make me stop reading. I loved the Nancy Drew series as a kid. Gabby gets herself into scrapes, etc. I really like the way Gabby's growth in her faith is incorporated into the stories. Sometimes I can really relate to her journey.

Mother against Mother in an intense, gory, and epic tale By Fans of Modern Horror Urban legend, creepy babies, and a witch hellbent on getting her revenge! Who could ask for more? But there is more, two very different kinds of mothers battle to protect their very different children. This is fast paced, action packed, bloody and disgusting in all the best ways! Cash somehow always seems to be able to add a bit of comedy to his horror, which is Awesomesauce! Highly recommend to all fans of modern horror!

This book is self-published.Right, time to be up front and honest from the very beginning. I have been friends with Matthew Cash on Facebook for about a year now. I have never met the fella face to face. A lot of people would say this is very fortunate for me. I would beg to differ. Matty-Bob, as he is better known, has had a bit of a bad rap. Not entirely his fault, more from situations that show how social media can sometimes be used against a person, but, I won’t go into that here.I have known he has been writing for a while now. I have offered to read some things before. A couple things didn’t work out but that was purely down to the fact that even though I know him, I will be honest with him about his writing. Mr Cash was wise enough to take some things on board and fix them. This brings me to Ankle Biters. This is the first story written by Matthew Cash that I have sat down to read for enjoyment. To give the fair and honest review. He knows I will be brutally honest.Here goes then.Courtney, Bethany, Meghan and Grace are four teenage friends. They act like any normal teenage girls. Nothing too malicious about them, but they do get into mischief from time to time. One night while hanging around in the local cemetery, they dislodge a three-hundred-year old statue that ultimately, falls completely over.They are too young to know about the legend of Old Ma Lacey or indeed the significance of what they have just done.Old Ma Lacey was a witch. The statue was keeping her in the ground. The door has been reopened, and she want’s vengeance.So, there are not a lot of characters in this. It’s mainly just the four girls. They are as I said, typical teenage girls. Mobile phones surgically transplanted in their hands and they like a sneaky beer when the parents are out. They are not vindictive or malicious kids that are out mugging grannies so you can’t help but like them. The circumstances they are in are disastrous, but accidental.Christine is Courtney’s mum. She comes across as an intelligent and courageous woman who would do anything for her kids. They all must band together in a dramatic fight to defeat evil.The plot? It’s very old skool. An ancient legend of the last witch to be burned at the stake in the area. A legend that is so old that people of today don’t believe it is true. But it is. And it is real. The witch has been unleashed once more and is after the girls who let her free and ultimately to get revenge on all ancestors of the people who put her underground.So what did I think of it? You know what? I’m actually rather surprised. I went in to this not expecting much from it. Don’t ask me why. I think it may be something to with it being a new author and the fact that I know them from another life before the writing so didn’t want to build my hopes up that it was any good. But it is. It’s mighty damn fine in fact.When I mention the plot is old skool, so too is the writing. This story could be from any horror film you ever watched in the 70’s or 80’s. It has a wonderful old atmosphere to it that will transport you back to the days of Poltergeist (1982) and Tremors (1990) and The Gate (1997). It just has that feel about it that makes you smile while you read it. It keeps you on edge and it does creep you out without descending into the ridiculous or unbelievable. It’s horror, but it’s great fun while it’s at it.Can I be negative for a minute? Sometimes you can tell it is an early piece of writing from someone new. That’s to be expected though, right? A bit more work on some of the phrasing, some of the grammar. I also have to say that for me, it ended too suddenly. It was an effective ending and if it was a movie it would be a great scene to fade out on, but I wanted a little bit more of the human story at the end. But that’s about it really.You know I reckon this fella has a future at this writing lark. The surprised feeling is still hovering over me a bit. I’m more impressed than I thought I would be. This book brings back a certain nostalgia to the horror story. Nothing high tech, no CGI, just scares and ancient monsters. Good stuff.To summarise: old skool, no frills horror that will take you back to the golden age of the 80’s. A very enjoyable short from a new name that could make his name shine in big bright lights if he keeps writing stuff like this.General rating:★★★★ a couple of creases to iron out.Horror rating:★★★★ not far off the full lot.

Wonderful read By Chandera Desautel The book Report For Booty is a wonderful book on two former Army Rangers, Mason and Nash, who meet with a beautiful woman named Regan. Who the men called Ms. Luscious. Regan has trust issues that the men have to get through to get to her heart. This was such a wonderful read. I didn't put it down till it was done. I loved it. I would recommend this book.

Next door neighbors Mason and Nash introduced themselves while bringing her the misplaced mail from their bungalow. She had no idea they had been checking her out. The rest of her stay on the island came to her as quite a surprise. The ending is short and sweet! Sexy, cute book!

Mason and Nash steam up the pages from the start. They're brawny and good natured and they want nothing more than to give Regan their complete attention.The fact the work well as a team is a boon for Regan and her repressed lady parts. The fact they want nothing more than to lavish her with all the attention she's been lacking sends her into a tailspin. Then she realizes that having too men totally dedicated to her pleasure is NOT SOMETHING ANYONE SHOULD WALK AWAY FROM. And she goes for it. Boom! Let the sexy times begin!I loved revisiting Marissa (she who also has a hunk of burning love in the form of Mr Kinky Claus himself) and I'm curious is Harper's story about her lost connection is going to yield us a story about her finding her HEA. For the record, I totally wouldn't mind that. Harper made me laugh.*big thumbs up* all around for Regan and her hunks!-Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal
