As the heir to his works, Bree’s under pressure from her stepmother to sell so she can get half the money, but Bree would rather destroy every last painting than let that happen. By INDYread Leslie North: The Sharqi Sheikh Series Book 4-The Sheikh’s Captive LoverMs. North’s short stories about four Sharqi Sheikh Brothers of Al-Sarid has brought us to Amare Sharqi, the youngest brother. We were first introduced to Amare in book 1, The Sheikh’s Unforgettable Lover with his tutor Kim Atkins who eventually married his oldest brother, Karim Sharqi. Now, eight years later, Amare is all grown up and working in the family business. In a business deal, Amare must purchase a painting from Ms. Brianna (Bree) Van Ludhis, daughter of the deceased artist of a specific painting that is vital to the completion of the business deal. Bree is a spirited, opinionated and determined woman and “nobody owns her”, especially a tall dark hansom sheikh. So, here answer over and over is “NO” she is never selling the painting. In a few pages, Ms. North gives the reader a journey with two people that find themselves exploring the chemistry and connection they feel for each other. You are treated with internal dialog that will have you laughing out loud. Such as: Bree wanted to get out of Amare’s country without him knowing. She thinks that maybe she could rent a car and drive to a neighboring country and catch a flight. Maybe there was some kind of Desert bus service like Greyhound that she could buy a ticket. Maybe she could hijack a camel and make a wild run for the border of Al-Sarid…. You will find several equally as funny statements.Of course, the challenges that both parties have seem insurmountable and Bree leaves Al-Sarid. Find out if Bree and Amare can find a common ground in order to find their HEA.Spoiler Alert ******************************What Didn’t Work:First, I have almost all of Ms. North’s books and there can be typo errors or the use of the wrong word or person, which pulls you out at the point in the book, and is annoying. I am not sure who Ms. North's editor is, but, all of this should be caught. The reference that Bree thought her Step-monster may have poisoned her father. Since his body was cremated, no way to check. It was somewhat annoying to bring this up -- why -- unless this was going farther and get to the true. Why bring it up? Just let him die of natural causes and move on. Otherwise, someone got away with murder and nothing happens.Since Ms. North is a talented writer and her books are all short, it can be annoying when 1) the book just ends… no epilog, nothing. 2) The book ends anywhere from 75%-80%+ and the rest is advertising of her books, which is fine. All of us want to know about her books. But a few books in have 1 or more chapters you can read. I would prefer:1) Advertise, but not have 1 or more books with chapters to read. Instead use those few pages to give a proper ending, an epilog or something. 2)Use more pages. Keep the advertising section as is, but, use more pages for the story in order to give us more dialog, epilog, ease into the ending, something.Even with some of the “what didn’t work”, I do recommend this book, which is why I gave it 4 stars.

Another great book in this series with well developed strong characters By Nancy Dormanski The Sheikh's Captive Lover is another hit for Leslie North. Sheikh Amare Sharqi is trying to close a deal with a neighboring land owner for the use of his land. Nassir has added something to the negotiations for the land use agreement, he wants Amare to include a painting by Patrick Van Ludhis and he will sign the deal. Bree Van Ludhis has come to Al-Sarid to pick up her late father's painting. When confronted by Amare to sell the painting to him she refuses. Now begins new negotiations. Enjoy getting involved with the mystery behind the refusal, why this painting is some important to the various parties and the sparks that fly between Amare. This book is part of a series but all book are stand alone.I received an ARC version of this book in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.

I enjoyed this book just as much as her other books, she has a real talent for making the characters come to life. You feel like you are involved in the story and have a vested interest in the outcome for the characters. Look forward to Ms. North's next book. **I received an free ARC for my honest review."
