Seasoned social worker Kayla Brooks has dealt with her fair share of difficult situations, but nothing could have prepared her for the likes of Dean Wyatt, head of Wyatt House Group Home for Boys. When a case unexpectedly brings Kayla to his door in the middle of the night, sparks fly. With a piercing gaze and heavily inked skin, Dean looks like a walking wet dream. Until he turns out to be an asshole. Dean Wyatt has always kept those around him at arm’s length. Secrets lurk beneath his tattoos—a traumatic past known to very few. Forced to work together in order to help two vulnerable boys, Kayla slowly penetrates Dean’s tough exterior. She pulled you in and made you part of the characters lives. You could not help but share with them their pain, loss, happiness and love.I was very impressed that it was about 800 pages long. The book was not one page too long. It was a real page turner. I felt that I wanted to read more and follow more of the characters lives. She tied u all the ends so nicely at the end. There was ONLY likes in this book. I can truly not think of one single dislike I could find in this book. I couldn't put it down and just kept turning the pages. I became invested in the characters. Not just the main characters but the secondary characters as well. It is very character driven. I liked how they developed, you can see their growth throughout the book. The author made me feel their pain, their happiness. I couldn't help but want everything to turn out okay with them. The story developed nicely as well. The chemistry between Dean and Kayla was amazing. I could feel the sexual tension between them. The sex scenes were hot. But besides that, I enjoyed reading their journey.Overall this was a good read. And look forward to reading more from this author.

However, I noticed the book length was 594 pages so I was a little apprehensive about whether this book would hold my interest. Glad I dove in head first into reading Angel of Redemption! The two main protagonists are Dean Wyatt, 29 yrs old, who runs Wyatt House Group home for boys and Kayla Brooks, 27 yrs old, social worker who loves her job, loves the kids she's responsible for in her cases. Dean operates the group home with his brother Aiden and sister-in-law, Emily.Dean and Kayla's tale begins when Kayla has to place Logan and Matthew (Matty) Davidson in the group home because it's her last option. Dale is a tortured hero with a lotta baggage, his past haunts him and causes him to be abrupt and moody on most days. Kayla looks past his behavior because the welfare of Logan and Matty come first with her as far as she's concerned.....but there is a spark of interest during that first encounter.I love how their relationship grow and develops during their day to day, week to week, month to month meetings. I love how the author works in the insecurities for both Dean an Kayla as their attraction grows. Dean thinks he's not good enough for someone like Kayla. Kayla is certain of how she feels but is afraid of rejection but forges ahead anyway to get pass the walls Dean has built up.Angel of Redemption shows several layers of love. It's about kids through no fault of their own who end up unwanted or come from broken homes or drugged addicted parents and get stuck in a state's DHS or CPS and case workers who support them. It's about what defines a family. It's about acceptance in society. It's about giving a voice to those who need help.I thought with so many characters in the story, the characters would get lost but the author does a great job of character interaction. You will definitely root for the kids of Wyatt House, sensitive but resolute Matty, his older brother Logan who puts up a front of being a tough guy while protecting Matty and learning how to deal with his brokenness, Brayden, Eric, Edgar, Jax, Curtis. You'll get to meet Kayla's BFFs and co-workers, Warren and Sara. Kayla may come from a broken family but you'll feel the love she has for her step siblings, Andy and Claire as well as her dad and stepmom Brian and Karen. There are more characters involved but you'll just have to immerse yourself in Angel of Redemption.I'm not a big reviewer (more like lazy) and I lost a few days this week to finish this story but I'm glad.
