A sexy carjacker takes a would-be starlet for the ride of her life as a pulse-pounding new series from New York Times bestselling author Tracy Wolff begins. Once the brains behind a car-boosting ring, Nic Medina has spent the last three years playing it straight. Now drag racers flock to his L.A. auto shop, Hotwired, for a shot at going head-to-head with the man himself. But when a crooked cop gives Nic a treacherous ultimatum—steal ten high-end cars or watch his nephew disappear into the system—he makes the only choice he can, one that puts the life he’s worked so hard for at risk. No sooner does Nic agree than he spots some nasty competition—and a gorgeous bystander in harm’s way. A small-town girl with Hollywood dreams, Jordan Bass never expected to be swept up in a real-life drama. But that’s exactly what happens when she witnesses a violent crime. And when a smoldering stranger takes the wheel and practically kidnaps her in a desperate bid to keep her safe, she’s not sure whether to scream . . . or kiss him. Nic’s bad news—but the real bad guys aren’t above silencing a witness. On a collision course with danger, Jordan finds herself falling for the man whose street smarts are keeping her alive . . . and whose touch puts her in high gear.Praise for Accelerate “Accelerate is seductively sinful and a brilliant start to the Hotwired series.”—New York Times bestselling author Sawyer Bennett “Accelerate is hot, raw, and full-on sexy! She writes smooth dialogue and very passionate smexy scenes. After I recovered from my #CoverLust and read the synopsis, I was excited to jump into this new direction she's taking with this series.I confess that after reading the scene where Nic & Jordan first saw each other, even I felt the chemistry between them. They had not even met yet, they just saw each other across a crowd at a race. When she left without talking to him, I had blue ladyballs. I couldn't wait for them to actually talk to each other...and more.Nic Medina came off as bad boy from the get-go. He was well known and had a reputation in the racing community for not only being the best driver, but also for building the fastest cars. So, yeah, he was confident, but not really cocky or arrogant. He was likable, and sexy as hell with his tall, sculpted physique, dreads, caramel-colored skin, and green eyes. I already knew there was gonna be a dirty cop from reading the blurb, so I was waiting for it to happen. I was ready to have his back and rant at the injustice of what he would have to do to protect his family. I was riled-up, in advance. Aren't I a supportive reader?Jordan is a waitress. She is suffering PTSD like symptoms from an event that has stolen her happiness. She's living a very quiet life, minus the fun nightlife you would expect from a young, beautiful college student. Of course, that has me wondering what happened to her? I'm feeling all protective, wanting to kick somebody's ass, but I don't know who. I soon learn that she's a survivor, determined not to let the past steal her future. She can't rewrite history, but she can make better choices to protect herself. And what a good job she does...as Nic will soon learn.Nic has turned his life around. He's reclaimed his family and friends and is trying to make amends for his past mistakes. He's the owner of a very successful business, Hotwired, and his sister and his close friends work with him. Things are going pretty good...until they aren't. When his worst nightmare shows up while he's awake he knows he's not dreaming. He knows that he's gonna have to go back to the last place he ever wanted to return to. He's gonna have to repeat the mistakes of his youth all over again and hope for a better outcome, because the alternative is worse.Rev your engines because this will be a rush to the finish-line. There's a lot of history and details that have to come together to fill in the blanks. And in the meantime, the hotness between Nic & Jordan is off the charts. Get ready to melt into a puddle of goo. While I don't exactly consider it a cliffy, because of the fact that the relationship between the main characters is resolved by the ending, it is kind of open-ended. It is a scene with some support characters that I consider to be a glimpse into the future letting us know what to look forward to in the next book. It worked quite well actually. I am intrigued and looking forward to more acceleration in Hotwired, #2.

Jordan is a waitress with a past tragedy. This is a very typical new adult setup of late, but I have read and enjoyed Tracy Wolff books in the past but gave it a go. I really liked her last new adult series, and this is book 1 of a new series, going to be centered around that garage.Nic has been to prison for mistakes made when he was a teen, under pressure of supporting his younger siblings. He is out, has been for 3 years. Note here that ages are never given and it reads as new adult (heroine is a college student) but if I add up his prison time, how long he has been out, etc., Nic has to be almost 30. Anyway, he is now running his garage with his band of close friends. A dirty cop comes to him with blackmail that could put him in prison once again, and also puts him right in the past of Jordan, our heroine. He has to save both of them, and they find love at the same time.Once again, this new adult setup is wildly improbable, but here we are in romance land so it goes. He owns millions in cars for example. This book does have a lot more in terms excitement and "suspense" than other books I have read by this author, and I liked that. It states it is over 300 pages though, and I felt it was very surface in the romance between the characters and their backgrounds. We saw glimpses, but I never felt very attached to either character, and the secondary characters nearly all blended into each other and the background. It started strong, had a blur of a middle and ended strong. I give it 3 to 3.5 stars, but will continue the series. The epilogue of course gives us a bit of a cliffy but not for the current couple, just a lead into the next book, which I find very acceptable as a reader. My thanks to the publisher via Netgalley for an advanced copy of this book to read and provide an honest review.

It's the fast-paced love story of Nic Medina and Jordan Bass who meet and fall for each other in the span of just a few days. If this isn't your thing then you might as well stop reading. To be honest, it's not normally my thing either. But Tracy Wolff very precisely changed that when it comes to Accelerate. Her writing and her characters drew me in immediately and found myself smiling throughout the whole book.Told from the alternating points of view of both Nic and Jordan, Accelerate takes you on quite the ride. I thought some of plot points were definitely the product of artistic license. They were fully exaggerated, seemingly out of the realm of possibility in certain situations, and again moving at lightning speed. Doesn't matter because the story is fantastic because of it. Wolff hooked me and I found myself unable to put the book down. I just really enjoyed these two characters and the crew that surrounds them. I felt their insta-connection. I adored them both. And loved reading about their short coupling.Nic Medina is a total alpha. He exudes confidence. He's sexy and sharp. I mean the man has dreads and green eyes, come on. He's drives like he lives - in the fast lane. He's also kind, thoughtful, sweet, and capable of melting your heart. Jordan Bass is a troubled woman. Coming out her shell finally only to find herself smack in the middle of danger that Nic Medina is wrapped up in because of circumstances beyond his control. Between the two their quick wit, looks, implicit trust, and banter engage them in ways no other person has for each of them. And the passion and the sex is off the charts. I mean Nic Medina is without a doubt "pure magic" in a very vulnerable and desirable way.I'm the first to admit the story is outlandish. But it's just so fun and easy and honest. It's not deep but so easy find yourself immersed in. It's a perfect lazy Sunday read or beach read. Both Nic and Jordan are characters you'll enjoy reading. The light angst comes from the plot not from the characters fighting what they feel yet the writing keeps us focused on these two. And the group of secondary characters who Nic calls friends and family enhance the feels of the story as well as Nic and Jordan. There wasn't a moment a felt disconnected from the writing or the plot. Wolff definitely held me captivated with her words. The story wraps up quite nicely although we do learn right at the end there's more danger lurking for Nic and company. I personally can't wait to find out what lies ahead for these two. Anyone interested in a quick, hot, adventurous romance I definitely recommend this book for you.
