After rescuing a child prostitute in Cambodia, Tess persuades Jake, Carmen, Nicola and the Team to tackle human trafficking worldwide. Sponsored by the United Nations, she creates a team of Valkyries, six remarkable women that alongside the men of the Team embark on a Herculean effort to rescue victims and pursue traffickers, starting with a degenerate financier that controls a multinational sex enterprise. The team then takes direct action by unleashing their military skills in battles against powerful slavers, Boko Haram in Nigeria and the Mexican cartels. The action turns to combating child trafficking, rescuing captured women abused by the terrorist group ISIS, probing Nigerian prostitution in Europe and Russia, and confronting the appalling sex trade in Mexico, Afghanistan and in the U.S. In a whirlwind series of actions, the story transitions from Phnom Penh to New York, Houston, Miami, Paris, London, Amsterdam, Hamburg, Buenos Aires, and Las Vegas. The deeper the Team gets involved, the more challenging their task becomes. With all cards stacked against them, Tess and Jake must find a way to address the fundamental causes of human trafficking and attempt to formulate a solution to intractable problems.

A well-researched story By Cheexy85 This well-researched story of human trafficking spans across various countries from Nigeria, Italy, Cambodia to France. It also explored the inhumane and terrible treatment of women captured and used as sex slaves by ISIS in the Middle East. The main character is a formidable fighter Tess, who along with her husband and colleagues who work for an organisation that specialises in providing highly sophisticated weapons and training soldiers on how to use them. After an incident in Cambodia they decide to diversify their operations into combating sex trafficking. As the story unfolds, we are introduced to other minor characters who in collaboration with the core group, travel to countries with the aim of rescuing victims of these crimes and arresting master minds of these crimes. From reading this book, I could see that the author spent a great deal of effort in carrying out research and I was very impressed with the validity of information provided in the story. The choice of names (particularly the Nigerian ones) were completely spot on.The only issue I have is the fact that the author used the term "Nigerian" to represent the language spoken by one of the Nigerian pimps which the group encountered at a ghetto in Italy. In reality, there is no universal language spoken in Nigeria called "Nigerian". The fellow may have spoken Pidgin English, Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa or any one of the over 52 other languages spoken in the country. As one who is of Nigerian heritage, this assumption is a major pet peeve to me.Overall, I really admire the effort that went into writing this book and highly recommend it to anyone looking to learn more about sex trafficking through a well-written story. Well done to the author and I look forward to reading more stories from him in future.

By Mia Johnson After rescuing a child prostitute in Cambodia, Tess persuades Jake, Carmen, Nicola and the Team to tackle human trafficking worldwide. Sponsored by the United Nations, she creates a team called Valkyries, six remarkable women that alongside the men of the Team embark on a Herculean effort to rescue victims and pursue traffickers, starting with a degenerate financier that controls a multinational sex enterprise. The deeper the Team gets involved, the more challenging their task becomes. With all cards stacked against them, Tess and Jake must find a way to address the fundamental causes of human trafficking and attempt to formulate a solution to intractable problems. The subject matter appears to be drawn from actual events and clearly exposes the magnitude of the human trafficking problem. The author manages to balance the grim material with humorous vignettes such as Jake’s food obsession, the villain’s pursuit of Tess, her amazement about the way the French manage sexual affairs, and a funny chapter on the adventures of two of the guys sampling the delights of Buenos Aires. The conclusion is interesting because it avoids saccharine artificial resolutions. This is a well written, worthy read that sheds light on problems that many of us choose to ignore because they affect mostly the disadvantaged. In a way, this book is a call to action.

By Vanessa Kings We are lately witnessing some of the most brutal and heart-less acts in the world, from massive assaults, shootings, terrorism, human trafficking and murder. I have never read a fiction book about one of those topics until now, and the way in which “Tess - Valkyries United: The Abomination of Human Trafficking” addresses them is very touching. While the Valkyries and the Team are traveling across the world in an attempt to eradicate human trafficking, we get to know the real aspects of the horrible situations that many women have to live every day, not only in the Middle East but everywhere. People walk around unaware of this and this book, besides being a fictional story is very though-provoking about this matter. The author managed to include a romance story in-between the pages, which adds so much value to the plot, making it unique and even more real. This isn’t the kind of book that I would normally pick to read, bit I’m very glad I did, and if it’s not your favorite genre either, I invite you to give it a try, it won’t disappoint you and it will change the way you think about many things.
